Who we are

Dobdob is run by Northcube Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Contact: privacy@dobdob.app.

How it works

You make a promise with a deadline. If you don't prove it by then, we tell the person you chose as your snitch, if they agreed to be one: in the Dobdob app, or by text if you have Dobdob Pro and they're not on the app. Whether you made it is decided by our server's clock, not your phone's.

You must

• Be 16 or over.
• Only add a snitch who knows you and is happy to hear from us. They get one invite and nothing more unless they say yes.
• Not use Dobdob to harass, embarrass or threaten anyone. Promise titles appear in texts, so keep them clean.
• Keep your username and profile photo clean: nothing rude, hateful, sexual, or pretending to be someone else.
• Keep your login to yourself. If you sign up with email, use a password you don't use anywhere else.
• Follow the community rules, especially on boards, where other people see your name, results and photos. No nudity, violence, hate or anything illegal. We don't tolerate it.

Boards and photos

On a board, the other members see your name, the board's promise, your results and your photo proofs for 24 hours, and can vote on or challenge them. Anyone can report a photo or a person, or block a person. We look at every report within 24 hours and remove anything that breaks the rules. Photos that break the law are kept and may be reported to the authorities.

Results and appeals

Our server decides whether a promise was kept, using its own clock. Where a photo isn't clear, your snitch or your board decides. You can appeal a flop from the app (one a month, two with Pro). An appeal clears the flop, but anyone who was already told still knows.

We can

• Hold or stop texts at any time, for example over a daily limit, or if someone asks us to stop.
• Remove photos, names or boards that break these rules, and close accounts that do.

Dobdob Pro

Pro is a monthly subscription at the price shown in the app. It's charged to your Apple or Google account and renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. You can cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; Pro keeps working until the end of the month you've paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. If a payment fails, Pro keeps working while the store retries. Nothing of yours is deleted if Pro ends: you just can't add more than the free plan allows.

No guarantees

We work hard to send every reminder and text on time, but phones, networks and carriers can fail. A missed reminder doesn't change a result.

Leaving

You can close your account in Settings at any time. It's deleted 30 days later; sign back in before then to change your mind.
